Hi, I'm Martin.

I'm 65 years old, recently retired after a long career in local government, and about six months ago I stumbled across something that genuinely surprised me — artificial intelligence tools that any ordinary person can use, right now, for free.

No degree required. No technical background needed. Just curiosity.

The more I explored, the more I found tools that were actually useful — tools that could help me write better, think clearer, save time and learn faster. But every time I searched for guidance online, I landed in the same place: articles written by young tech enthusiasts, packed with jargon, aimed at people who already knew what they were doing.

I wasn't that person. And maybe you aren't either.

So I started Curious AI for people like us.

What is Curious AI?

Curious AI is a weekly newsletter where I review one AI tool at a time — in plain English, with no jargon, no hype and no assumption that you already know what you're doing.

Every week you'll get:

  • One tool reviewed — what it does, who it's for, and whether it's actually worth your time

  • A plain English explanation — written for real people, not tech experts

  • An honest verdict — I'll tell you straight if something isn't worth the effort

That's it. Simple, practical and straight to the point.

Why should you trust me?

Honestly? Because I'm not a tech expert trying to impress you.

I'm someone who discovered these tools the same way you might — by accident, with scepticism, and a willingness to give things a try. I use these tools in my daily life. I know which ones actually work and which ones are just clever marketing.

I'm also not being paid by anyone to recommend specific tools. My only goal is to help you figure out which AI tools are genuinely worth your time.

When will you hear from me?

Every week, same time, same format. One tool. Plain English. Honest verdict.

Your first proper issue arrives next week.

One small favour

If you know someone else who is curious about AI but doesn't know where to start — a friend, a sibling, a colleague — please forward this email to them. It would mean the world to me and it costs you nothing.

And if you'd like to say hello, just hit reply. I read every message personally.

Until next week,

Martin Curious AI — AI tools explained in plain English
